Phew, it's been a long time from when I started to this day. I guess I'm going to cut to the part when I finally realized this was what I was supposed to be doing with my life :)

First, a little context. For the longest time, I dabbled between my "real" jobs and making jewelry on the side. Worked at a design house in NY designing jewelry for big companies - literally designing styles and entire collections in 1-2 days tops. I met some of my best friends to this day, learned the ins and out of the industry and soaked it all in.

I moved back home to Panama in 2015, thinking it was the right moment to start my small business; little did I know I had a long way to go. It was suitable for character building; I'll tell you that haha. I worked at a multinational company for sportswear, then worked at an international pharmaceutical company... all of this while still designing jewelry on the side. I quickly realized (and by quickly, I mean 3-4 years) that quite simply - life is short, and I shouldn't feel so unfulfilled at my job (which, by the way, people, it's 30% of what you spend your life doing).

I took a leap of faith and started making jewelry full-time. Worked from the bottom up, sold at craft shows, attended holiday markets, got into small boutiques in Panama, rented a studio, started attending Trade Shows. Eventually, things started picking up. It is to this day still a lot of work. Lots of good and hard days, but I cannot imagine doing anything else in this lifetime.

For me, it was realizing that making my craft (which made me happy) also made other people happy!

Tell me that doesn't sound like a great reason to keep at it?

I hope that when (and if) you get one of my designs, it can find a permanent spot in your favorites jewelry box. That when you dress up, you reach out for that necklace or pair of earrings because it makes you feel joyful!

Thank you for being here and allowing me to keep making beautiful designs for you.

xx, Tara
